Obituary of Nancy Jane Hatcher

Nancy Jane Hatcher, age 86, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at her home in Lake Ozark.

Nancy was born February 19, 1932 in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was the daughter of Hampton and Frances (Crump) Ferris.

On September 5, 2003, Nancy was married to Era Price Hatcher who preceded her in death January 6, 2009.

Nancy was born and raised in Jefferson City and graduated from Jefferson City High School with the class of 1950.  She remained in Jefferson City for much of her adult life where she had a long spanning career at the Department of Agriculture and she also worked part time in the emergency room at Still Hospital. When she wasn’t working, Nancy enjoyed travelling, cooking, bowling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was known to have a sweet tooth and as noted by her loved ones: “What’s not to love about a woman who loved her family almost as much as she loved the St. Louis Cardinals; happy hour with friends at the “Top of the Hill”; sitting on the porch looking out at the lake; and her beloved dog Yadi.”

Nancy is survived by her grandchildren, James Brian Kliethermes, William Wilson, and Chelsea Wilson (Daniel Swope); her great grandchildren Sydnee Kliethermes (Tyler Luebbert), Josh Kliethermes, Brayden Wilson and Olivia Swope; her sister Marilyn Moss Green; her nephews Steven (Stefanie) Green and Joseph Green; her cousin Bill (Sunny) Michel; her amazing care-giver Deanna; her beloved dog, Yadi; along with many special friends, especially those at Bristol Bay.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Hampton and Frances Ferris; her husband Era Price Hatcher; her daughter Carol Wilson; and Dana Kliethermes.

A Celebration of Life will be held this coming summer.
