Obituary of Kathie J. Elkins

Kathie J. Elkins, age 59, of Linn Creek, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri.

Kathie was born on December 29, 1958 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Robert and Ruby (Ameis) Spruell.

On August 11, 1975 in Texarkana, Texas, Kathie was united in marriage to Charles Elkins, who preceded her in death April 4, 2016.  They had shared over 40 years of marriage together at the time of Charles’ death.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. They will deeply miss her caring support and loving kindness that make each child feel special. They cherish every time she would share her drawings and artistic talents with them, as well as her ability to tell them “no”.

She is survived by her sons Chad Elkins and wife Banita of Granbury, Texas, Chase Elkins and wife Amber, of Linn Creek, Missouri; brother Robert Spruell of Texarkana, Arkansas; sister Edna Horton, of Carthage, Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Isabella, Anna, Russell, Savannah and Samuel.

Kathie was preceded by her husband Charles; her parents, Robert and Ruby Spruell, and brothers Roger, Jimmie, and Wayne.

Kathie was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday December 5, 2018 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
