Obituary of Edward L. Scott

Edward L. "Ed"  Scott, age 71, of Brumley, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.

 

Ed was born January 14, 1947 in Enon, Missouri. He was the son of Elonzo and Alma Jeannette (Ferguson) Scott.

 

On December 24, 1970 in Belton, Missouri, Ed was united in marriage to Laura Wickam.  They shared nearly 48 years of marriage at the time of his death.

 

Ed worked as an over the road truck driver for many years.  When he wasn't on the road, he enjoyed tinkering around and working on projects.  He loved his family more than anything.

 

Ed is survived by his wife, Laura, of the home; his daughter Laura VJ Heape and husband, John, of Brumley, Missouri; his sister Phyllis Burris of Eldon, Missouri; and three grandchildren, Billy Ray Cotten Jr, Jessica Heape, and William Fewell; along with several other relatives and friends.

 

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Elonzo and Alma Scott; three sons, Steven Marshall Cotten, Billy Ray Cotten Sr and Jerry Edgar Gene Scott; his brother Jerry Scott; and his sister Janet Chapman.

 

Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm. at Gott Cemetery in Brumley, Missouri.
