Obituary of Darrell "Skip" Ruediger
Darrell “Skip” Ruediger, age 79, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at his home.
Skip was born August 24, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Harry and Carla (Kretzler) Ruediger.
On March 3, 2003 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, Darrell was united in marriage to Terry Wright. Together they shared over 15 years of marriage at the time of his death.
Skip served his country proudly in the United States Army. His dedication to service continued as he worked for over 40 years with the St. Louis Police Department. Most recently, Skip was active with the C.O.P.S. organization headquarters in Camdenton. Skip also took community responsibility by working with the Osage Beach and Lake Ozark Fire Departments. He was a past member of The Elks Lodge in Osage Beach, and the American Legion Post 149 of Eldon. He enjoyed being part of Dewey’s Toys for Tots here at the Lake. Skip was an avid NASCAR fan and greatly enjoyed watching Chiefs football.
Skip is survived by his wife Terry of Lake Ozark, Missouri; his step-son Ryan Hagan (Trisha) of Holts Summit, Missouri; and seven step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Carla Ruediger; his step-son Jason Hagan; one brother Kenneth Ruediger; and one sister Elizabeth Ruediger.
Military Services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. at Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Veterans Wall, in Osage Beach, Missouri.
