Obituary of David Anthony Julius
David Anthony Julius, age 64, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at his home in Stover, Missouri.
David was born October 18, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of David Harrison Julius and Margie (Pritchett) Julius.
On October 2, 1982 in Orange, Texas, David was married to Margaritte Poland, and together they shared over 36 years of marriage at the time of his death.
David enjoyed a long-spanning 45 year career as a riverboat captain, and truly loved every minute he spent on the river. He had several hobbies including woodworking, building black-powder guns and flying gliders. David also loved motorcycles and all things history. He was a very creative person and an avid cook. David lived life to the fullest and will be missed sorely by all who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his wife Margaritte; his sons David C. Julius of Collinsville, Illinois and Timothy Whitsell and wife, Sara, of Avon, Indiana; along with 2 grandchildren. David is also survived by his brother Bruce Julius of Redbud, Illinois; and his sisters, Lisa Hewlett and husband, Gary, of Collinsville, Illinois, Lori Price and significant other, Greg Sparks of Saint Jacob, Illinois, and Vicki Jackson and significant other, Terry Parker of Caseyville, Illinois.
