Obituary of Ordean Henry Burud
Ordean (Dean) Henry Burud died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on February 13, 2019.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Olga Burud and 3 siblings. He is survived by one brother, Robert Cordell Burud of McKinley Texas, and by his three children, Dean Scot Burud of Fort Worth Texas, Julie Ann Adams of Tulsa Oklahoma, and Nancy Kay Breen of Nixa Missouri.
Dean was born in Erskine, Minnesota on November 21, 1935. He attended Moorhead State University and proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years active duty, and five years active reserve.
Dean married JoAnn Dorothy DeWitt on June 6, 1958. They have 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Dean and his family lived in the St. Louis area for 33 years where he excelled in the field of corporate real estate. Then Dean and JoAnn retired to the Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed the past 19 years doing his favorite things. Dean especially enjoyed boating, riding his Sea-Doo with the “Old Farts Club”, watching the lake view from his deck and family visits. He was never afraid to dance and sing along to his favorite music. He leaves behind his beloved “sweetheart” dog, Diva.
Dean was always the life of the party where he never met a stranger. He was funny, hardworking, honest, and loved his box of wine! Dean left a mark on everyone he met. He was loved and respected by many family, friends, and fur babies that had the honor of knowing him.
