Obituary of Nona "Jean" Lyons

Nona “Jean” Lyons, age 78, of Macks Creek, Missouri passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.

Jean was born May 10, 1940 in Macks Creek, Missouri. She was the daughter of Oral and Nona (Blurton) Stoner.

On April 9, 1966 in Macks Creek, Missouri Jean was united in marriage to Jerry Eugene Lyons. Together they shared over 36 years of marriage at the time of Jerry’s death on May 7, 2002.

Jean took great pride in working as a CNA in the Home Health industry for 20 years. She dearly loved cooking for her family and having family get togethers on many occasions. Jean’s greatest joy in life was her family and spending time with them as much as possible.

Jean is survived by her daughter Teresa Murray of Macks Creek, Missouri, brother Johnnie Stoner (Sam) of Lebanon, Missouri, sister in law Joyce Stoner of Macks Creek, Missouri, one grandson Mathew Murray, nieces, nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Lyons, parents Oral and Nona Stoner, and brother William “Bubby” Stoner.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Macks Creek, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Macks Creek Cemetery, Macks Creek, Missouri.
