Jack Williams was one of my three older brothers. We grew up together, only three years apart, living through World War II and the latter stages of the Great Depression, in a small home in the small town of Ojai, CA. Jack was extremely popular and very active in our schools, including Nordhoff High School where he graduated in 1947. He excelled in athletics, student government, academics, served as Student Body President, and as the school's delegate to Boys State in California. He went on to graduate, majoring in math, from UC Los Angeles, and had successful careers in Corporate Insurance, and in the Aircraft Industry. He and his first wife, Ione, had four children, three boys and one girl, all of whom have had successful careers. I will also miss him and our weekly phone discussions about life, politics, books, movies, and family history. We spent several wonderful days together in his home in Lake Ozark, Missouri, just months before his passing, long hours, late at night sharing drinks, talking about our parents, Clarence and Ada (Plott) Williams, our brothers Ralph and Glenn, friends, the Great Depression, World War II, and our lives together in a low-income family, hours I will always treasure. A good man is gone. I too will always miss him. RIP. --Jim Williams, Goleta, CA
