Obituary of Lewis Doyle Hicks

Lewis Doyle Hicks, age 75, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at his home in Camdenton.

Lewis was born July 14, 1943 in Lebanon, Missouri. He was the son of Huiey and Gladys (Moore) Hicks.

On May 18, 1968 in Lebanon, Missouri, Lewis was united in marriage to Naomi Kathryne Collins who preceded him in death October 10, 2018.  They had shared over 50 years together as husband and wife at the time of Naomi’s passing.

Lewis was a self-employed carpenter through the years and was a member of the Carpenters Union in Kansas City, Missouri.  In his spare time, he enjoyed watching western movies and car racing.  He loved spending time outdoors, especially if he was hunting and fishing. 

Lewis is survived by his step-son Dennis Franklin; his grandchildren, Jessica Hicks, Dillon Hicks and wife, Megan, and Mallorie Mareda and husband, Ryan; his great grandchildren, Kira, Preston, Kayden, and Emberlee.  Lewis is also survived by his brothers, Paul Hicks, Kenny Hicks and wife, Judy, and Tom Hicks and wife, Jing; his sisters, Mary Sue Tyre and husband, Bob, and Doris McNew and husband, Kenny, along with several other relatives and friends.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Huiey and Gladys Hicks; his wife, Naomi Hicks; his son, Dwayne Hicks; his brothers, Lawrence, Clarence, James Todd, Wayne and Edward; and his sisters Alma Dame, Retha Dame, Maxine Keller, Linda Sheets and Melba Hicks.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 am at Flatwoods Bible Church Cemetery in Bennett Springs, Missouri.
