Julie Wilson

Obituary of Julie Annetta Wilson

Julie Annetta Wilson, age 57, of Camdenton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, following complications from a 24 year long battle with Ovarian Cancer.

She was born April 9, 1962 in Springfield, MO to Jack and Lora Jean (Evans) Wilson, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Nixa Public High School and the University of Missouri in Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She worked several jobs to put herself through college. After graduating from college, she started full time at Shelter Insurance Companies in the Marketing Department and held several positions in the Information Services Department reaching the position of Director. She left Shelter because the Lake of the Ozarks was calling her name. She became a successful Commercial Real Estate Agent in the lake area.

Julie had a very strong faith. She was always able to find joy, courage and strength in the Lord. She was an active member of Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, where she served as a Trustee. She was a member of Loving Hands Preschool Board for many years.

She had such a positive attitude even when she was struggling through years of treatments for her cancer. She had an incredible sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks. Look out on April Fool’s Day!

Julie met so many people over the years and everyone she met became a friend for life. People were instantly drawn to her. She had a witty personality, a welcoming presence and a generous heart. She has been an inspiration to so many but was always very humble. She was always there for the big events and a lot of times for the small ones. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary.

She was a very strong advocate of PAYING IT FORWARD. You wanted to be behind her in the Starbuck’s drive-through when she stopped to pick up coffee for her oncologist. She never forgot the nurses either, giving them gift cards at Christmas and on other special occasions. At Christmas one year, we decided not to give each other gifts, but to just go to a nice dinner. On the way home, she had us stop at Walmart and she gave each of the four of us (Mike and Jan Baker, Linda and Connie) two $20 gift cards to hand out to people we thought might need them. At her 50th birthday celebration, she gave each guest an envelope with $20 in to Pay it Forward. That was the kind of person she was.

Julie was the strongest, most loving person we all knew. She will always be with us – in our memories, in the lessons she taught us and in the way she inspired us. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed but she is finally home.

Survivors include her brother, Les Wilson and wife Peggy of Republic; two sisters, Candy Wilson of Cape Girardeau, and Sandy Wilson of Kansas City; three nephews, Jackie Wilson of Republic, Jimmy Wilson of Chicago, IL, and Tyler Dubroc of Sweet Springs; and a niece Hollie Dubroc of Sedalia; two great-nephews, Chance Dubroc of Sweet Springs and Kolton Dubroc of Sedalia; and great-niece Avery Dubroc of Sweet Springs.  She shared a home with her good friends, Connie Hawkins and Linda Lancaster.
