Obituary of Michael Don Peters

Michael  Don Peters age 67, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his home in Camdenton.

Mike was born December  17, 1951 in Washington, Missouri.  He was the son of Anthony and Evelyn (Tobben) Peters.

On September 18, 2010 in Camdenton, Missouri,  he was united in marriage to Tracy Talleur. 

Mike relocated to Rolla, Missouri from Washington, Missouri.  He held various jobs through the years including  owning his own business.   After moving to Lake of the Ozarks,  he purchased A&J Motel  which he operated for several years.   After selling the motel,  Mike worked at Speedline,  and also for   Casey's  as a manager, before taking on his most favorite job of all, as a bus driver with the Camdenton  R-III School District.

Mike was an active member of the Camdenton community and served as past President of the Camdenton Area Chamber of Commerce.  He also served as a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, where he enjoyed serving others and working the numerous Fish Fry’s held throughout the year.  Mike was an avid cook and loved grilling for his family and friends.  He enjoyed watching cooking shows and had a love for old cars.   His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and grandkids.

Mike  is survived by his loving wife, Tracy of the home; his daughters, Kimberly Burks and husband Bryce, Stephaney Otte, and Kelly Turner and husband Steven; his son  Bradley Peters; his mother-in-law, De Talleur;  his brother–in-law  John Talleur; his sister  Jane Lane and husband Jim;  sisters- in-law,  Freda Talleur and Lisa Riddle; and his   grandchildren, Kalvin Turner, Jackson Turner, Izabel Burks, Justin Peters and Lyric Otte;  along with other relatives and many friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Evelyn Peters.

A Celebration of Life  will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00-11:00 am prior to services at the church.

Inurnment will be at St Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Camdenton, Missouri.

Memorial donations are suggested to either the Knights of Columbus or Kids Harbour.
