Obituary of Lydia Baumgartner

Lydia "Lee"  Baumgartner, age 79, of Four Seasons ,Missouri,  passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at her home.

Lydia was born May 14, 1940 in Michigan City, Indiana,  the daughter of Walter and Lydia (Klaus) Mandleco.

On December 10, 1960, in Albuquerque, New Mexico,  Lydia was united in marriage to Kenneth Baumgartner, who preceded her in death August 20, 2017.  They met in Ridgecrest, California and had shared over 56 years together as husband and wife at the time of Kenneth’s death.

Lydia worked many years as a hospital secretary and clerk before retiring to Lake of the Ozarks.  She enjoyed spending days outdoors tending her gardens and arranging flowers for her family and friends. She was an avid reader and was active in a ladies book club, and loved painting and playing cards with her friends.  Lydia was an member of the Longtimers-Newcomers Club in Lake Ozark where she enjoyed meeting friends and socializing.

Lydia is survived by her two children, Lorri Lawson of St. Peters, Missouri and Kurt Baumgartner and wife Kimberly, of St. Charles, Missouri; her sister, Lynnette Gilliam and husband Wayne, of Las Vegas, Nevada; her brother,  Walter Mandleco and wife June, of Hinesville, Arkansas; and two grandsons, Brandon Lawson and wife Jenna,  and Alex Baumgartner.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lydia Mandleco;  and her husband Kenneth Baumgartner.

 A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday July 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Osage Beach, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
