Billie Amos

Obituary of Billie N. Amos

Billie N. Amos, age 82, of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Billie was born March 27, 1937 in Linn Creek, Missouri, the daughter of Earl and Iris Evelyn (Shipman) Miller.

On July 30, 1982, in Miami, Oklahoma, Billie was married to Merle E. Amos, who preceded her in death May 17, 2007.

Billie grew up and was a life-long resident of Camden County.  She was employed in secretarial positions for most of her working life.  She was first a secretary for Fred Foster, Attorney at Law in Camdenton, and later for Jim Franklin Sr. at Central Bank, and more recently, Amos Septic.   Billie enjoyed painting and spending time outdoors hunting with Merle, although she would never shoot her gun.  She enjoyed going to Branson now and then and loved the simple things in life such as going to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard and going to the park.

Billie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a caring friend and neighbor.  Her family will have many cherished memories to treasure for years to come.

Billie is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Hanks and wife, Reta, of Camdenton, Missouri and Dan Hanks and wife, Laura, of Linn Creek, Missouri; daughters Lynette Avery and husband, Richard, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii and Susan Holsburg and husband, Frank, of Raytown, Missouri; six grandchildren, Emily, Floyd, Brandon, Jennifer, Joe Jr, and Jacob and twelve great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Jacque Adams of Lebanon, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Iris Miller; her husband, Merle E. Amos; and her sister, Barbara Caudle.
