Obituary of Lela Marie Henry

Lela Marie Henry, age 92, of Linn Creek, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri.

Lela was born on May 1, 1927 in Montreal, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charlie and Myrtle (Sears) Jones.

Lela was united in marriage to Ollie Henry on August 30, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas. Together they shared nearly 38 years of marriage together at the time of his death on October 13, 1982.

Lela worked for Modine in the production line for many years. She loved watching “The Young and The Restless” and “Gunsmoke” in her spare time. Lela was a member of Buffalo Prairie Church and enjoyed reading her Bible. Her greatest joy in this life was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son Jimmy (Eileen) Henry from Scottsdale, Arizona, her daughters Naioma (Larry) Nichols of Basehor, Kansas, Julia McDowell from Camdenton, Missouri, Janice (Willard) Hawkins of Camdenton, Missouri and Patricia Anderson (Gary Plemmons) of Iberia, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Lela was preceded in death by her husband Ollie, parents Charlie and Myrtle Jones, son George Henry and son in law Gerald McDowell, brothers Walter, Earl and Roy Jones, and sisters Grace Gum, Emogene Calvert, Elsie York, Ethel Barfield and Leona Green.

Memorial donations are suggested to Montreal Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri.

Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Buffalo Prairie Church, Montreal, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. prior to service at the church. Interment will be at the Montreal Cemetery, Montreal, Missouri.
