Obituary of Charles William Renne

Charles William (Billy) Renne, loving father and grandfather, departed this life unexpectedly on Thursday, August 15, 2019. He was born on May 2, 1948 in Kansas City, KS to William Renne and Bonnie Dickens.

In May 1967, Billy graduated from Turner High School, and in December enlisted with the United States Marines Corps.  He served with Whiskey 1-12 in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969 as a Corporal. Lance Corporal Renne achieved many honors including a Purple Heart. He transferred to Marine Corps Reserve after Honorable discharged in 1969. Whiskey 1-12 Infantry remains UNITED still to this day.

He went on to work for Safeway Corporation 10 yrs and made a career for himself as a Plant Manager. In 1996, he started a successful business, CR Services, Kansas City, KS. He since has been semi-retired. A Volunteer Firefighter for Coffman Bend, Climax Springs.  He enjoyed playing golf, traveling with the love of his life, wife, Allie, High School friends, Coffmen Bend friends, and being a snowbird in Pharr, TX, Tropic Star where he has many friends. Golf cart rides with Jasmin, Fishing in his pond, HUGE NASCAR FAN, and enjoyed the game of Basketball. 

He is survived by; his darling dog; Jasmin Girl, 6 Children Sons; Chad Renne and Brian Renne both of Kansas City, Kansas, Daughters; Heather Renne-Colorado, Mary Stewart-Lenexa, Kansas, Stacy Callaghan (Tim) and  Kimberly Renne both of Olathe, Kansas, and twelve wonderful grandchildren; Samantha Serrano, Josh Renne, Julia Renne, Alyssa Callaghan, William Renne, Nicolette Callaghan, Mya Stewart, DJ Stubblefield, Charles Callaghan, Alec Stewart, Dominic Renne, and Devyn Stubblefield. Niece Amy (Reardon) Alaiwat, and Nephew Joey Reardon, Brother in law Jerry Hickenbottom (Joplin), Step Father Kenneth Reeder (Oak Grove) Step Son David Gurney (Jamie), of Odessa, Missouri, and his Daugher’s Hannah and Gracee.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Alice Gurney, his parents William Renne and Bonnie Dickens, and sister Marcia Hickenbottom, and brother Mike Renne.

Lance Corporal Charles W. Renne's wish is to be respectfully laid to rest at the Military Cemetery, Arlington National Cemetery, in Virginia.
