Obituary of Doan R. Rice

Doan R. Rice, age 86, passed away Monday, September 9, 2019 at his home in Roach, Missouri, attended by his wife Ludene, and niece Helen Setridge.

He was born March 25, 1933 at Heber Springs, Arkansas to Vernon and Martha (Dill) Rice.  He married Ludene Schluter Jones on May 25, 1989.

Doan is survived by his wife; his daughter Peggy Wolford; granddaughter Stephanie Rice; step-sons Ronald Hargis (Judy), and Gary Hargis (Debbie); son-in-law Tommy Barker; several nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Connie Barker; son, Bobby Rice; brother, Otis Rice; sister, Verna Adams; granddaughter, Tiffanie; and great granddaughter, Mary.

Doan lived life to the fullest.  He loved the outdoors and was a wonderful friend with a cheerful laugh.  He was a loving husband and cared deeply for his family and for animals.

Doan was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Camdenton.

Services will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at 11:00 am at Dongola Cemetery, Dongola, Illinois.

Interment will be held at a later date in Dongola, Illionois.
