Obituary of James Wesley Berry
James (Jim) Wesley Berry was born on March 7, 1956 in Independence, Missouri. He was the son of Viril Berry and Frances Ann (Divine) Berry and departed on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at his home in Tunas, Missouri at the age of 63.
Jim attended school for 6 years in Independence, until the family moved to Tunas in 1968. There he attended Tunas school for 5 years and then went to Skyline school and graduated in 1974. After graduation, he milked cows with his Dad for 2 years. Jim then went into construction work and built many houses. He also worked on the Senior Citizen Housing in Macon and Salem, Missouri. Later, Jim rented a dairy farm in Urbana, Missouri where he milked for 25 years. He then purchased a truck and went into the trucking business up until the time of his death at home in Tunas.
Jim loved hunting, fishing and all kinds of animals, including his 5 dogs he left behind who will really miss him.
Jim is survived by one son Jason and his wife Nicole Berry and grandson Banks Berry of Williston, North Dakota, one step son Luke Simmons of Sedalia, Missouri, three brothers, Charlie Berry and Alicia Holland of Tunas, Missouri, Andy and wife Cheryl Berry of Conway, Missouri and Dale Berry of Tunas, Missouri and sister Nancy Bishop and husband Andy of Phillipsburg, Missouri. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Viril and Frances Berry.
Service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Macks Creek, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery, Tunas, Missouri.
