Obituary of Doris J. Rich

Doris J. Rich, age 91, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born in Scott county, Illinois on June 18, 1928, to Carl and Rena (Werries) Stegeman.

Doris was united in marriage to Stanley Rich on June 25, 1950 in Bluffs, Illinois. They shared nearly 50 years of marriage together at the time of Stanley’s death on May 10, 2001.

Doris loved playing the card game bridge and worked her way up as life master. She liked playing golf and working jig-saw puzzles later on in her life. She enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. Doris was a true believer in God. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her, she will be deeply missed. Our loss was heavens gain.

She is survived by her son David Rich and his wife Mary of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; daughter Sandra Reynolds of Nicholasville, Kentucky; sisters Evelyn Vortman of Bluffs, Illinois and Wanda Miller of Springfield, Illinois; five grandchildren Matthew Rich, Christopher Rich, Joshua Reynolds, Sara Zeurcher, and Jennifer Werle; twelve great-grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, son Jeffrey and her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Lake Ozark, Missouri. Interment will follow at the Hawthorn Mausoleum Cemetery, Jefferson City, Missouri.
