Orville was one of my absolute favorite McDonald's owner/operators. As a young marketing and advertising account executive, Orville took me under his wing and taught me the ways of McDonald's...which is no easy task. I owe him a great deal of gratitude. Rest in peace to a true gentleman. My best to the Graves family. Al Tramontina West Des Moines, IA

When we all worked at McDonald's together everyone would get so scared when we heard Orville was in the parking lot. Then, when we had sleepovers at Holly's I thought for sure Orville would get mad when Holly would raise her voice to him; but he was a big teddy bear!! We all knew he loved us with his big soft heart.

I had a lot of fun when you taught me how to fish when i was younger, and I enjoyed helping in your shop with making the bullets, toy cars and kayaks.I love you so much and am thankful you were my papa.

For my whole life you have been an absolute mountain of a man- steady, resolute and dependable. You’ve always given the best hugs. I love your sense of humor, how it sneaks up and surprises me. You always manage to be funnier than I remember. I remember how we used to go out on the lake in the boat, and how you would let us steer. I remember your hands on mine, helping me. I remember being very small and sitting on your lap and thinking you were too big to be true. Larger than life. It was very impressive, I remember. You have been a steady, easy presence of warmth and love my whole life. I remember watching movies with you. Recently we watched that one with the audacious horse theft. It was great. I keep mentioning things I remember because throughout my whole childhood you’ve been there and I want you to know that, that when I think of all these moments growing up, when I think of childhood, you are always, always there. I love you so, so much. I wish I was with you now. I’m so glad I got to see you at Christmas, I’m so grateful that I got to have you in my life for so many years. I’m going to miss you so much. Please hug Papa for me here. I love you.
