Obituary of Homer C Perry

Homer C. Perry, age 89 of West Plains, Missouri passed away on January 13, 2020 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Homer was born October 14, 1930 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was the son of Mamie (Guess) Perry and Walter Perry. Homer was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Marie Dykes on August 9, 1947, in West Plains, Missouri. Homer and Marie were happily married for 62 years until Marie’s death on October 1, 2009. Homer enjoyed getting together with family and friends whenever time allowed. Pitch and dominoes would often be played after the celebration of a home cooked meal. Homer was a kindhearted man that was always willing to help anyone in need. His gentle mannerisms made a stranger feel welcomed. Homer will be greatly missed by anyone that knew him. Homer is survived by his son, Dennis K. Perry and wife, Karen E. (Alter)Perry of Camdenton, Missouri; his sister, Dortha Holloway, Hot Springs Village, Hot Springs, Arkansas and his brother, Lewis Perry, wife, Mary, West Plains, Missouri; two granddaughters, Alicia King, husband, Tom, O’Fallon, Missouri and Allison Elam, husband, Derek, Seminole, Florida; three great grandchildren, Ella King, Reese Elam and Parker Elam. Homer was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Perry and his son Danny C. Perry. A celebration of life will be held in Homer’s honor at 10:00am on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Central Church of Christ, West Plains, Missouri. Interment will follow at Mint Springs Cemetery, Lanton, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dementia Society of America.
