Obituary of Janice Kay Lyles O'Brien

Janice Kay Lyles O’Brien, 70, of Four Seasons, Missouri, died Friday, February 7, 2020 at home. She was born May 5, 1949 in Jerseyville, Illinois to Harry and Edna (Devening) Lyles. She married Robert O’Brien on November 6, 1982 and he survives. Also surviving are her son, Ryan Lyles (Desarae French) and two grandsons, Kember and Carson Lyles (Lake Ozark, Missouri); one daughter, Heather Shields and one granddaughter Juliana Shields (Four Seasons, Missouri); four stepsons, Robert O’Brien, James (Linda) O’Brien, Michael (Julia) O’Brien, Thomas (Sandra) O’Brien and several step-grandchildren in the Chicago, Illinois area; three brothers, Harry (Dick) Lyles, James Lyles and Robert Lyles (all of Jerseyville, Illinois); and four sisters, Lillie Wilson, Nora Jones, Edie (Bernie) Dugger (all of Jerseyville, Illinois) and Cora Hadlock (Casper, Wyoming); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her father and mother preceded her in death along with brothers L.C. Lyles, Herbert Lyles and adopted brother Harry Lee Lyles and sisters Ruby Williams, Essie Heitzig, Hazel “Pete” Jones, Mickey Wallace, Mae Vickers and Violet and Dottie Lyles in infancy. Janice was a long time resident of Four Seasons where she lived since retiring from the northwest Chicago suburbs. She graduated from Jersey County High School in 1967 and was a bookkeeper for the majority of her life until retirement when she owned her own cleaning business at the Lake of the Ozarks. She loved to sew, play slot machines and enjoyed cooking and playing card games. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting with family and friends. Her Celebration of Life is at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at the Four Seasons POA Clubhouse, 36 Vintage Landing Drive, Four Seasons, Missouri 65049.
