Obituary of Robert Jess Elgin

Robert “Bob” Jess Elgin, 66, departed this life Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia, Missouri. He was the son of Bart and Dorothy (Alwater) Elgin, born November 17, 1953 in Beardstown, Illinois. Robert spent the first half of his life working on the assembly line at a factory in Vermont, Illinois. He married Vicki (Harris) Hendricks in May of 1976 and of this union one daughter was born, Rebecca Elgin of Stover, Missouri. Robert moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in the late 1980’s where he enjoyed fishing. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brother Russell Elgin, first wife Vicki, and nephew Jeff Hunter. Robert is survived by daughter Rebecca L. Elgin of Stover, Missouri; step-daughter Tammy (Robert) Conner of Eldon, Missouri; step-son James (Tammy) Hendricks of Eldon, Missouri; significant other Gloria Stark of Stover, Missouri; granddaughter and caregiver Bobbie Hendricks of Eldon, Missouri; nieces Misty (Elgin) Varesko of Rices Landing, Pennsylvania, Ketra Lundeen of Anchorage, Alaska; nephews Brad Hunter and Troy Hunter of Vermont, Illinois and Scott Parry of Virginia; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
