Obituary of William Samuel Martin

William Samuel Martin, age 84, of Camdenton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at his daughter’s home in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. William was born February 8, 1936 in Dixon, Missouri, the son of Everett and Lena (Hale) Martin. On June 22, 1957, William was united in marriage to Shirley Johnson in Overland, Missouri. They shared 56 years together when she preceded him in death on October 18, 2013. William was a loving father and family man, and he was an avid Cardinals baseball fan. He enjoyed being outside gardening, doing yard work, and fishing. He liked listening to bluegrass music. William was a wonderful and loving caretaker of his wife Shirley. William is survived by his son Howard Martin and wife Julia of Saint Clair, Missouri; his daughters Lisa Jann and husband Robert of Sunrise Beach, Missouri and Amy Lopez and husband Luis of Eldon, Missouri; 11 grandchildren Aaron, Leah, De Anna, Nathan, Kelly, Luke, Emily, Elli, Samuel, Lucia, and Giuliana; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy Hughes; brothers Thomas H. Martin, Robert G. Martin, Stanley E. Martin, Ralph J. Martin, Gary D. Martin, and Terry G. Martin. William was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Lena Martin; his wife Shirley J. Martin; and daughter Julie Tappe. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 19, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Union, Missouri.
