Obituary of Dona June Tobin-Pierce
Dona June Tobin-Pierce, lover of a good belly laugh, hummingbirds, dancing, carnival rides, singing to those she loved, making crazy faces and spooky sounds, caregiver, driver of enormous buses and passenger vans, crafter, fur-baby mama, traveler and explorer, star, mountain and ocean gazer, loving friend, auntie, mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and daughter, left this world Monday, June 29, 2020 at 1:00 am holding the hand of her husband, to be with the only being she loved as much as those with her on earth, her Savior and Lord God. She did not fear passing from her earthly home, but lamented leaving us behind. It’s been less than 24 hours and we miss her.
She was a tough mother to her children, biological, adopted, those inherited by marriage, and those who needed a parent that didn’t have one to lean on. She was most affectionately nicknamed Sarge. In the best of ways, she tried to make all of us stronger and better people. She was proud of her husband, children, and grandchildren and she always let us know exactly what she felt was most special about each of us. She loved without bounds and hoped for nothing more than to be loved the same way in return.
Dona leaves behind her husband, Warner Pierce of Eldon, Missouri; 3 daughters Lisa Russel of New Hampshire, Melissa Tobin and husband Gregory A. Davis of Vermont, and Catherine LaRose Tobin of Vermont; 4 sons Charles La Rose Tobin of Vermont, Joshua Tobin of Missouri, Justin Manning and wife Jackie of North Carolina, and Jeff Pierce and wife Melody of Maine; 8 grandchildren Cameron and Jacob Russell, David and Blake Rashford, Gregory V. Davis, Justin and Brenden Baehman and Alexis Manning. She also leaves behind a brother Robert Valiquette and wife Dhory; nephew Justin; nieces Holly Gudeahn and Aimee Ransom; as well as many friends and Church family.
Dona was preceded in death by her parents Clara and Jim Jacob, and brother Ronald Valiquette.
