Obituary of Mack Chesley Rainwater

Mack Chesley Rainwater, age 85, of Linn Creek, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Camdenton Windsor Estates in Camdenton, Missouri. Mack was born September 14, 1934 in Montreal, Missouri, the son of Dewey and Margaret (Phillips) Rainwater. Mack was united in marriage to Vera McDowell on April 3, 1959 in Brumley, Missouri. They shared 61 years together at the time of his passing. Mack worked for 37 years at Lake Lumber Company in the paint department. He was a member of Linn Creek - Osage Beach Lions Club for 35 years. He was also on the New Hope Cemetery Board for 50 plus years and was the Mayor of Linn Creek for 2 terms. He was a loving husband and a kindhearted person. He enjoyed doing woodworking and making furniture. He took great pride in taking care of his yard. Mack is survived by his wife Vera Rainwater of the home; brother Edsel Rainwater of Osage Beach, Missouri; sister Ola Cross of Osage Beach, Missouri; nephew Preston Mawyer, Jr.; niece Lois Wright and husband Jerry; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends. Mack was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Margaret Rainwater; brothers Warren Rainwater, Sid Rainwater, and Barney Rainwater; and sister Margery Lawrence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation at 9:00 am prior to services at the funeral home. The family requests that those who attend the services follow the guidelines of the CDC and local health department by maintaining social distancing. Masks are not required but may be worn at your own discretion. Interment will be held at New Hope Cemetery in Kaiser, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to Montreal Cemetery or New Hope Cemetery.
