Oh, Uncle Pete! My mind goes back to memories of you from my childhood. The biggest booming voice and ready, contagious laugh. I remember thinking as a child that your laugh could be heard for what my Mom called a country mile!
Your love for Aunt Mary was quite evident and I could see how much you enjoyed each other’s company.
Thank you, for being some of my fondest memories of my summer vacations and sometimes Christmas treks to the place that my parents always said lovingly was home. We may have physically lived in Arizona but Springfield was home.
I was always impressed by your military service and in my mind you will forever be a hero. Thank you for your service from this grateful American.
So many memories and my husband and I still talk about having hung out at your cabin when our kids were young. I was so happy to be able to give my kids a glimpse of my childhood through you and Aunt Mary.
To my lovely Aunt Mary, I send thoughts, prayers and loads Of love and hugs. And from every one in my clan, myself, Kimball, Jon and Jennifer and their families we are so sorry for your loss and will keep you in our prayers for comfort, peace and most of all that when the memories of this fine, hardworking man come flooding in, that they will bring you joy.
Love, Sandy Banks (Stapp)
