I worked with Ed for a fairly brief time nearly twenty years ago. Yet, we stayed friends the rest of the way. The fact that we both found each other in a less-than-desirable work situation I think, gave us the 'foxhole' camaraderie despite our differences. He was a genuinely sweet guy and never gave up the fighting spirit in spite of the obviously overwhelming pain he endured the last years of his life. Godspeed, Ed, and until we meet again, enjoy an ice cold Dixie on me!
