Obituary of James Albert Garrison

James (Jim) Albert Garrison, age 87, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020. He was born in Montreal, Missouri on December 22, 1932 to his parents Morgan and Irene (Rogall) Garrison. He attended grade school at the old one room Freedom school house and graduated from Camdenton High School Class of 1950. He proudly served his country in the United States Army 25th Artillery Lighting Division during the Korean Conflict. After serving in the military, he owned and operated Garrison’s Cook Paint in Camdenton, along with his first wife Bobbie Sue (Miller). As a young man his passion was hunting arrowheads, fishing, hunting, shooting, gunsmithing, and anything outdoors. Jim was a 50-year Mason brother and a member of Linn Creek Lodge No. 152 AF & AM, a member of the NRA, the Missouri Trapshooter’s Association, and the Amateur Trapshooter’s Association. In his later years Jim shot trap at many Missouri gun clubs and other states. In his golden years, after no longer able to shoot trap, he took up going “to the boat” play the slots. He could often be found playing cards with his Willow Creek buddies and socializing at the Eldon Senior Center. He is survived by his sister Leona Estes and brother Joseph (JR) Garrison both of Huntington Beach, California; special best friend Delores (Dee) Garrett of Eldon, Missouri; son Todd Garrison and Sheila (Heady) of Holts Summit, Missouri; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers Carl Morgan Garrison and Paul Gordon Garrison; and his Aunts and Uncles (Sweatt and Hedrick). Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 5:00 - 6:30 pm on Friday, September 11, 2020 prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
