Obituary of James Laurence Hufferd Sr.

James “Jim” Laurence Hufferd, Sr., age 80, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Jim was born February 10, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas the son of Eugene Raymond and Laura E. (Spencer) Hufferd. On January 8, 1985, Jim was united in marriage to Sharon Hale in Versailles, Missouri. They shared 35 years together at the time of his passing. Jim had his own woodworking business for many years. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Macks Creek. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jim is survived by his wife Sharon of the home; his sons Mike Hufferd and wife Joy of Macks Creek, Missouri, Rich Hufferd and wife Crissy of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Jimmy Hufferd, Josh Cotten both of Roach, Missouri; 5 grandchildren Michael, Brandy, Austin, Joe, and Troy; 5 great-grandchildren Aaron, Matthew, Ellie, Jake, and Delanie; and many other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Laura Hufferd; brother Richard Eugene Hufferd; and grandchildren Kristin and Marissa. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 13, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Macks Creek, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 13, 2020 prior to services at the church. Interment will be held at Macks Creek Cemetery in Macks Creek, Missouri. Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
