Obituary of Gerald N. Coose

Gerald N. Coose, age 77, of Camdenton, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Jerry was born March 9, 1943 in Troy, Missouri, the son of Guy and Dena Coose. He graduated from Buchanan High School in 1961 and was inducted in the Army January 1962. He served his country for three years in the Third Infantry in Ft. Myer, Virginia. On May 27, 1967 he was united in marriage to Ann Worsley and to this union three children were born: Carmen, Chris and Caryn. They made their home in Troy, Missouri. Jerry worked for Chrysler Corporation and Harper & Row Publishers before starting his own plumbing company in the early 1980’s. He was the Lincoln County Civil Defense Director; he drove the ambulance part-time and was a funeral Director with Kemper-Marsh Funeral Home. Jerry was a volunteer fire fighter for many years, along with being a City of Troy Alderman for two terms. In 1991 the family moved to Lake of the Ozarks where Jerry started Coose Plumbing, his son Chris joined him in 1993 and continues to operate the business today. He enjoyed the Lake Area and visiting with his many friends. For the last 15 years Jerry was a member of the Habitat for Humanity Building Crew. Jerry enjoyed growing his beautiful flowers, wood carving, and the many camping trips the family took. More than anything, Jerry loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Jerry is survived by his wife, Ann of the home; his daughter Carmen Coose of Warrensburg, Missouri; his son Christopher & Stephanie Coose of Osage Beach, Missouri; his daughter Caryn (Coose) and Jeremy Sweat of Hendersonville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Max Lischwe, Dayden Coose, Jaxon Coose, Zachary Sweat, and Tyler Sweat; and one great-grandson Ashton Lischwe. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Deanna Brown of Wright City, Missouri; Darrell & Barbara Coose; Ralph & Alice Coose all of Troy, Missouri; and Donna and John Pavelski of St. Charles, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Dena Coose, one sister Wanda Coose, and a brother-in-law Gene Brown. A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
