Obituary of Robert "Bob" Wayne Taylor

Robert ‘Bob’ Wayne Taylor, age 81, of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away at his home with his wife, Ellen Louise (Backues) Taylor at his side on Monday November 2, 2020, at 10:06 pm. Despite his battle with serious medical issues in recent years, he continued to live every moment as fully as possible, whether it was swinging a golf club one last time, driving the boat, or simply sitting on the deck and enjoying the sights and sounds of the Lake. Bob was born to Marguerite M. and Leighton A. Taylor on June 29, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by one sister, Meta Ruth Dueker of St. Louis, Missouri, and one granddaughter, Chelsea Thornton of Union, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellen Taylor, his favorite daughter, Anisa Sladek and her husband Bobby Sladek of St. Thomas, Missouri, his favorite son, David Taylor and his wife Theresa Taylor of Roach, Missouri, his niece, Vicki Dueker of St. Louis, Missouri, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bob is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He enlisted in 1959 and served 4 years as a radio telegraph operator. After his service, Bob went through the electrician apprenticeship and worked as an electrician through IBEW Local 1 until his retirement in 2001. A few of the things Bob loved to do was golf, hunt, and watch all (and I mean all) sports. He was a walking sports encyclopedia. (For you younger folks that may not know what an encyclopedia is, that means he was the Google of all sports trivia). But most important to him and his family is that he loved God and believed that Jesus died and rose again so that we can be forgiven of our sins and live forever in heaven. There will be a CELEBRATION OF LIFE held in the Spring of 2021. A Facebook page has been created named Celebration of the life of Bob Taylor.
