Obituary of James R. Brandon

James R. Brandon, 81, of Roach, Missouri departed this life on November 2, 2020, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Osage Beach, Missouri. James was born April 10, 1939 in Mine Creek, Arkansas, the son of John Pierce and Inis Ruth Brandon. He enlisted in the Army out of school, attended basic training and NCO school. He served in Germany leaving the military at SGT E5 after 8 yrs. After the service he worked as a furniture salesman, then as a Trailways/Greyhound bus driver. When he married his wife Marie, they moved to Missouri by tossing a dime on a map of the US and it coming to rest on the Lake of the Ozarks. He worked as an engineer at Bagnell Dam, and finally at Sundstrand before retiring. James enjoyed visiting with everyone, fishing, movies, and was a coffee connoisseur. James was preceded in death by his father John Pierce (JP) Brandon and his wife Willie Elizabeth (Granny B), mother Inis Ruth Glass, wife Marie Brandon, and stepson Clint Whitten. He is survived by his children Marie Pitts and husband Charles of Roach, Missouri, Tim Whitten and wife Brenda of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, James Brandon and wife Karen of Peoria, Arizona, and Jimmy Whitten of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren Jonathan Brandon of Buffalo, Missouri, Randi Brandon of Camdenton, Missouri, Rebecca Pitts of Versailles, Missouri, Joshua Pitts of Versailles, Missouri, Eric Whitten of Springfield, Missouri, Brian Whitten of Springfield, Missouri, Breanna Byler of Springfield, Missouri, and Samantha and Brady Whitten of St. Charles, Missouri; and great grandchild Amber Brandon of Buffalo, Missouri. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date to be announced, as James did not want a funeral service.
