Obituary of Sarah Ann Schmidt

Sarah Ann Schmidt, age 82, of Lake Ozark, Missouri departed this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Sarah was born September 4, 1938 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Merle and Clara Hanson of Ruthven, Iowa. On March 3, 1962, she was united in marriage to James R. Schmidt. They shared a wonderful life together for 49 years until his passing in 2011. Sarah is survived by one son John R. Schmidt of Lake Ozark, Missouri, daughter Lorie A. Chittenden (Christian Myers) of Lake Ozark, Missouri; 4 grandchildren Jade Witt (Logan), Austin Chittenden (Kaylee), Sierra Schmidt (Caleb Daggett), and Chase Chittenden (Lindsey); 5 great-grandchildren Jax Witt, Lettie Witt, Maverick Daggett, Nixon Daggett, and Emma Chittenden; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James Schmidt, her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. She will be deeply missed by many. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at the Veterans Wall at Lake Memorial Gardens in Osage Beach, Missouri. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice Compassus.
