Obituary of Loren A. Dickey
Loren A. Dickey, of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away December 24, 2020 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at the age of 81.
Loren was born in 1939 to Ellis E. and Rosa McClelland Dickey. He was married in 1961 to Freeda Hodges. They had two sons, Kevin Dickey of Linn Creek, Missouri and Shannon Dickey of the state of Maryland.
Loren is survived by his life-long companion, Freeda Dickey; their sons, Kevin and Shannon Dickey; a sister, Freda Campbell, of Bolivar, Missouri; grandchildren, Kassandra Dickey and Kalvyn Dickey; and several nieces and nephews.
Loren was saved years ago and was an active member of Linn Creek Baptist Church, as long as his health permitted.
Loren was a farmer and a carpenter - welder on Stockton Dam, Truman Dam, Cannon Dam, and various projects in the Springfield area. He left construction in 1977 to start a dairy farm that he and his family operated for over ten years. He designed and built two homes for his family. After moving to Linn Creek, he worked in building around the lake. After being retired by a fall, he kept busy gardening and working around the place.
Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Macks Creek, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00-11:00 am prior to services at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Little Niangua Cemetery in Preston, Missouri.
Memorials donations are suggested to Linn Creek Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
