Obituary of Johannes Wartenbergh

Johannes "Joe" Wartenbergh, age 70, a Linn Creek resident of four months, formerly of San Jose, California for forty years, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Joe was born March 10, 1950 in Amsterdam, Holland. He was the son of Johannes and Helen Wartenbergh. On June 18, 1977, Joe was united in marriage to Pamela Griffin. They shared 43 years of marriage together and were a couple for 45 years at the time of his passing. Joe lived a very productive life as a business owner in all businesses he pursued. His most proud venture was his home remodeling company, and he lived to share his skills through his attention to detail and craftsmanship. He always guaranteed a happy customer. He loved to be on his boat with his wife fishing and enjoyed the beauty of the lake and new home setting. He is survived by his wife Pam, daughter Annie, son Joey and Joey’s longtime girlfriend Michelle. Joe had two grandchildren that he adored, Trevor, 16 and Brooke, 15. Joe had eight siblings, Paul Wartenbergh (wife Ria), Robert Wartenbergh (wife Nancy), Beatrice Beekwilder (husband Hans), Tilly Blanken (widow of Jan), Leo Wartenbergh (longtime girlfriend Elien), Loes Verhoef (widow Jan), Emmy Bosma (husband Fred), and Francis Wartenbergh. He had many nieces and nephews from his siblings. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Judith Griffin and brother-in-law Butch Griffin (deceased). Through the Griffin & Carrino family, he found much love which persuaded him to make the move to Missouri to enjoy retirement. He loved the Carrino family as his own. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Johannes and Helen Wartenbergh. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12:00 pm at St. John Bosco Church, 12934 Marine Ave, St. Louis, Missouri 63146. A Reception will immediately follow services at Spazio Westport, 12031 Lackland Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63146.
