Obituary of Edward C. Marks Jr.

Edward “Jr.” C. Marks Jr., age 75, of Barnett, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home in Barnett surrounded by his loving family. Jr. was born June 23, 1945 in Washington, Missouri, the son of Edward C. Marks Sr. and Catherine (Martin) Marks. On August 26, 1978, Jr. was united in marriage to “Peewee” Myrtle Achens in Union, Missouri. They shared 42 years of marriage together. Jr. was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He enjoyed listening to old country music. He also enjoyed fixing things, such as old cars, and remodeling. He could fix anything. Jr. was a loving husband, devoted father, and the best Papa. He had a heart of gold to family and to everyone he met. Jr is survived by his wife “Peewee” Myrtle Marks of the home; his son Allen Matchell (Christy) of Eldon, Missouri; his daughters Robin Coffman of Eldon, Missouri, Betty Spaunhorst (James) of Leslie, Missouri, Janet Nash of Gerald, Missouri, and Tanya Eversole of Union, Missouri; his son in law James Wilmsmyer of Eldon, Missouri; thirty-four grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Jr. was preceded in death by his parents Edward C. Marks Sr. and Catherine Marks; two daughters Loretta Whitten “Marks” and Rena Wilmsmyer (Matchell); two grandsons Jacob Spaunhorst and Matthew Pruessner; and son in law Allen Coffman; two sisters Ruth Bunton and Mary Beasley. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
