Obituary of Kevin Lee Papen

Kevin Lee Papen was born on June 23, 1963 and he passed away Monday, January 25, 2021. He is survived by his parents Kenyon E. and Betty Papen of Weaubleau, Missouri; a brother, David Papen and his wife Paula of Neosho, Missouri; and a sister, Michelle Shepherd and her husband Clint of Lingle, Wyoming; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts. Kevin grew up in the Lake of the Ozarks area and graduated from Camdenton High School in 1981. He worked at Lake Area Industries in Camdenton and the Black Hill Workshop in Rapid City, South Dakota. At his death he was residing in assisted living in Bolivar, Missouri. Kevin always loved cars, collecting rocks, gospel music, going to church, car magazines, sparkling snowflakes, and being with other people. Once he met someone, he never forgot a name or a face. He liked to bowl, visit Silver Dollar City, shop flea markets, go to bookstores, and food of any kind. His disability may have restricted some abilities but not his ability to love. Kevin’s heart was as large as the whole world and he was always ready to smile. He will be greatly missed but remembered as a blessing beyond description. A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Macks Creek, Missouri on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. The family requests that all who attend please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to a fund at New Home Baptist Church, PO Box 1015, Camdenton, MO 65020, to be donated in Kevin’s memory to Samaritan’s Purse.
