Jerry Blair

Obituary of Jerry L. Blair

Jerry L. Blair, age 73, of Montreal, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at his home in Montreal after his battle with cancer.

Jerry was born August 18, 1947 in Lebanon, Missouri to Emmanuel and Mildred (Osborn) Blair.

On November 25, 1970, Jerry was united in marriage to Linda Twitchell in Camdenton, Missouri. They had shared 50 years together at the time of his passing.

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was also a member of the Missouri and National Hunting and Trapping Associations. He enjoyed getting outdoors any chance he had to hunt and fish and going to local trapper rendezvous over the years. In his younger years he was also passionate about fast cars and spent many hours squirrel and coon hunting. Jerry graduated from Camdenton High School in 1965. After graduation, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a teletype operator. He enjoyed going on elk hunts in Colorado with his sons and family friends, as well as deer camp every November. He loved visiting the mountains, especially Rio Grande National Forest. Jerry was a member of First Baptist Church in Camdenton. He spent many years coaching kid’s baseball and found joy in playing adult leagues once his boys were grown. He enjoyed time spent in his garden every summer, especially after retirement. He worked for Southwestern Bell for many years and proudly retired at the young age of 52.  Jerry always had a good story to tell and often the tale grew larger as the years went by. In his later years, many of his grandkids knew he had candy hid and where to find it. Grandpa only required a few extra kisses and hugs in return. Jerry was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His family meant everything to him, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and loyalty.

Jerry is survived by his wife Linda Blair of the home; children Rebecca Blair-Keeney (Glen) of Montreal, Missouri, Jerry Blair, Jr. (Rachell) Montreal, Missouri, and Michael Blair (Belva) of Camdenton, Missouri; 8 grandchildren Glen Jr. (Kristina), Duell (Julia), Kyle (Katie), D.J. (Jordan), Tabby (Kris), Charley, Tristan, and Trinity; 6 great-grandchildren Sydney, Jaxson, Rayick, Ayden, Ashton, T.C.; his Aunt Sue Garrett of Los Chaves, New Mexico; several aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Emmanuel and Mildred Blair, sister Betty Wright, great-grandchild Owen Keeney, and nephew Charles Wright.
