Obituary of Jean Waite

Jean Waite (Nee Whittier) passed away on February 15, 2021 at the age of 95 in Camdenton, Missouri. She was born and raised in Superior, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Waite, also of Superior. They shared an unusually deep and abiding love.

She is survived by her son Mike (Michele), daughter Pat (George), son Rick, and daughter Jane (Marshall) in addition to 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Jean’s passion was her family, traveling over the world to visit them. After raising her family, her first job was taking the 1970 census, followed by over 20 years at Weidel Real Estate in New Jersey. Her sense of humor, congeniality and adventuresome spirit attracted friends, young and old, in the 7 states she lived in. She met new friends on the golf course, bridge games, Newcomers social clubs and as a volunteer at schools, hospitals, and churches.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
