Obituary of Buetta Oliver White
Buetta Alice Oliver White, age 91, passed away in Buffalo, Missouri on Sunday, March 7, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 17, 1929 in Strafford, Missouri to her parents Benjamin F. and Mary E. Willoughby Oliver. Buetta was the 9th child of 15 children.
On October 21, 1950 in Elkland, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Bill White. They shared 55 years of marriage together at the time of Bill’s passing in 2005. Bill and Buetta had 3 children together, Linda, Greg and Tina.
Shortly after their marriage, Bill was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country proudly for over 2 years. After his service, the couple settled in Buffalo, Missouri to raise their family. Buetta was a devoted homemaker and was active in her community. She enjoyed reading her Bible, sewing and playing the piano. In her later years, Buetta (Granny) spent many hours helping with Operation Christmas Child. She sewed stuffed frogs and prayer bears to put in the shoeboxes for children overseas. Buetta(Granny) dearly loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Whether it was telling them stories of her childhood, singing and playing the piano with them or teaching them how to play card games and checkers, she devoted her whole heart to those moments.
In 1942, Buetta received the gift of salvation at Strafford Assembly of God Church, in Strafford, Missouri. In 1943, she was filled with the Holy Spirit at Faith Tabernacle in Bakersfield, California and was baptized by water in the spring of 1946 at Branch Assembly of God in Branch, Missouri. Serving and loving her Saviour was at the forefront of everything she did. Buetta’s true joy was talkiing about her Jesus and what He had done for her, to anyone who would listen. Buetta was the one her family would call on for prayer, because everyone knew her connection with Jesus was like none other.
