Obituary of Richard Sandercock

Richard Sandercock, age 84, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Richard was born April 7, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Russel and Lillian (Severa) Sandercock.

On June 19, 1958, Richard was united in marriage to Roberta Arthur in Washington, Iowa. They shared 62 years together at the time of his passing.

Richard worked hard in life to achieve many goals. He graduated Coe College with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and then went to get his master’s degree in Business Administration at Auburn University. Richard took pride in his country and served his country faithfully in the Air Force for 30 years. He started out as a flight safety officer and worked his way up to Colonel and commander of the 381st strategic missile wing at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas.  Richard retired from SAC in Omaha, Nebraska.  Over the years of his career, he traveled extensively to 25 different places. His family loved supporting him and traveling with him. He also enjoyed working around the house as a handyman in his free time. Richard enjoyed life and his biggest honor was being a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be loved and missed by all those who knew him.

Richard is survived by his wife Roberta Sandercock of the home; sons Mike Sandercock of Phoenix, Arizona and Mark Sandercock of Kansas City, Missouri; brother James Sandercock and wife Judy of Burlington, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Russel and Lillian Sandercock.

Interment will be held at a later date in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
