Obituary of John Allen Trantham

John A. Trantham, 74, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 in Hermitage, Missouri surrounded by his family.

John was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles and “Louise” Trantham (Anna Louise Rhodes) on November 7, 1946. He was a veteran serving his country in the Army from 1967 to 1973 in the Vietnam War. He retired from Sachs Electric as an Electrical Design Engineer. John enjoyed fixing things, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends. He could often be found helping friends with repairs, working on some sort of project, or watching Westerns. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all he knew. His memory and legacy will live on in the lives of his family and all who knew and loved him.

John shared 25 years with his wife Donna Trantham (Larson) before her passing in 2019. He was also preceded in death by both parents Charles and Louise (Anna Rhodes); siblings James Trantham, Dorothy Showers, Charles (Fred), Elizabeth Opperman, and Betsy Rawie; as well as son Michael Knuth.

John will be terribly missed by his surviving children Brenda Tindle and husband Larry, Lisa Evans and husband Chris, Tony Risley and wife Carol, and Kimberly Knuth Fixsal; sister Etna “Pat” Miller and husband Bill; grandchildren Kristen Evans, Josh Tindle, Dustin and Wyatt Risley, Jordan, Billy, Jensen, and Lauren Knuth, Megan, Katie, and Rachel Thrasher; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. Military rights will follow at 2:00 pm at Lake Memorial Gardens in Osage Beach.
