Obituary of Dorothy Marlene Meier
Dorothy Marlene Meier, age 85, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Marlene was born July 28, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Al and Verna (Bennett) Kulage.
On May 10, 1958, Marlene was united in marriage to Roy Meier in St. Louis, Missouri. They shared 53 years together at the time he preceded her in death on October 7, 2011.
Marlene was employed at Walmart for over 30 years. She was a hard worker and was dedicated to her job and her family. She was an independent and strong-willed lady. She was also known to be feisty, sassy, and determined. Marlene enjoyed spending her time with friends and family and talking with them. She also enjoyed going out fishing, bowling, and shopping. Music and dancing brought her joy, as well as flowers and gardening. She had a love for dogs.
Marlene is survived by her children Mike Meier of Springfield, Missouri, Sandy Meier of Jefferson City, Missouri, Gary Meier (Vicky) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Sherri Hedrick (Tom) of Eldon, Missouri; grandchildren Brian Meier of Boss, Missouri, Tiffany Fare (Mike) of Belle View, Missouri, Nathan Meier of Kansas City, Missouri, Bryan Hedrick Jr. of Eldon, Missouri, Dalton Meier (Lauren) of Kansas City, Missouri, Zach Hedrick of Osage Beach, Missouri, Tanner Hedrick of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Jacob Meier of Springfield, Missouri; and 9 great-grandchildren Maddy, Riley, Levi, Logan, Shelby, Aliyah, Cayden, Noah, and Violet. Marlene is also survived by her brother David Kulage (Marilyn) and sister Betty Mask (Gary).
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Roy Meier, son-in-law Bryan Hedrick, great-grandchild Little Bean, parents Al and Verna Kulage, and 2 siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 5:30 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 4:00 -5:30 pm prior to services at the funeral home.
Inurnment will follow at Lake Memorial Gardens in Osage Beach, Missouri.
