Obituary of Clara M. Bowling

Clara M. Bowling, age 77, of Montreal, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at her home in Montreal.

Clara was born on September 23, 1943 in Montreal, Missouri, the daughter of Oscar and Lillie (Fredrick) Jeffries.

On June 7, 1963, Clara was united in marriage to Philip Spaeth in Camdenton, Missouri. They shared 22 years together at the time he preceded her in death in October 1985.

Clara enjoyed her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved the time spent making memories with each of them. They where her pride and joy. Clara had a caring heart, not just for her family but for others as well. She spent many years working as an RN. She devoted her time in nursing to Ozark Care Center and Windsor Estates caring for others and inspiring young women to pursue a career in nursing. Clara was known for her hobbies at crochet, sewing, and quilting. She took pride in the work she did. She also enjoyed working in the garden.  She loved gardening and the peace it brought to be outdoors.

Clara is survived by her daughters Laura Weaks (William) of Montreal, Missouri and Joyce Lizotte of Montreal, Missouri; her three grandchildren Nick, Bri, and Jerrison; her two great-grandchildren Karli and Brandon; her companion Cliff Weaks of Montreal, Missouri; her brothers Russell Jeffries of Montreal, Missouri and Gary Jeffries (Carol) of Des Moines, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Lillie Jeffries; her husband Philip Spaeth; brothers Wayne Jeffries and Dean Jeffries; and sister Joyce Hubbard.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church in Montreal, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church prior to services.

Burial will be held at Montreal Cemetery in Montreal, Missouri following the service.
