Obituary of John W. Hoffman

John W. Hoffman, age 80, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.

John was born January 28, 1941, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of John and Amy L. (Keul) Hoffman.

On February 26, 1988, in Peru, Illinois, John was united in marriage to Betty Byczynski-Tieman.  They shared 33 years together as husband and wife at the time of his death.

John worked 36 years as a supervisor at Sunstrand and 7 years at Caterpillar.   Among his many interests, he loved building things and working with wood.   He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting geese and fishing.  John loved smoking cigars with the boys and having a few beers now and then.

John was a wonderful husband and a great family man.  He loved his grandchildren dearly and spending time with them was the joy of his life.

John is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; his son, John D. Hoffman and wife, Mary, of LaSalle, Illinois; his stepsons, Tom Tieman and wife, Mary, of Oglesby, Illinois and Troy Tieman of Glendale, Arizona; his grandchildren, Rachel Frazier, Ashley Hoffman, Zach Walter, Austin Tieman, Mekinzie Tieman, William J. Moriarity and Justin Moriarity; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Amy Hoffman; and his first wife, Judy.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am, Monday, July 12, 2021, at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.
