Obituary of Donald Raymond Chisholm

Donald Raymond Chisholm, 82, passed away May 15th, 2021, at his home in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Don was born September 7th, 1938, at Rochester Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He grew up in Upstate New York including the towns of Lafayette and Palmyra. Donald was a Navy veteran and served as an aircraft electrician. He travelled all over the world and loved every minute of his Navy life.

Throughout his life he had many vocations and was incredibly talented in each of them. His remarkable resume included running a marketing agency, Regional Sales Director of computer and microfilm systems, (for use in county court houses), automobile sales, mortgage lending, and even held two patents for “Cable-Dry” and the “Expandable Fire-Block”. He will always be remembered for the many ways he shared his talents and ingenuity. Donald invented “Take your children to work”! We spent summers packed into the back of his green Cadillac Coupe de Ville. All of us fighting over the back seat and who got to sit on the back or front hump as Dad stopped at every county courthouse throughout the Midwest. Every summer was a history lesson. Dad’s stories were non stop. He led a full life that brought joy and love to us all.

Donald loved his wife of 45 years Bernadine Chisholm who passed away January 27th, 2020. Don and Berni shared many adventures and ventures. They both loved to travel and took many road trips each year to visit their friends, family and their children. They lived in their dream home at “The Lake” living their best life to the fullest!

Donald is survived by his children: Peter Seifried, Karyn Seifried Halstenberg, Kristen Seifried Janvrin, Michael Seifried, Heather Chisholm Darrow and Phillip Chisholm. And his 15 Grandchildren.
