Obituary of Gayle Mae Hogland

Gayle Mae Hogland was born February 28, 1950, to Fern Floriane Louritsen and Roy Bernard Johnson in Browns Valley Minnesota. She departed this life on Monday, July 5, 2021 at CMH Bolivar Hospital.

On June 1, 1968 she was united in marriage to Loal Gene Hogland, Jr.  Gayle has 1 brother John Johnson and 1 sister Sherry Brown (Johnson). She has three daughters Rebecca Hogland, Carrie Chavez (Hogland), and Amy Hogland. She was preceded in death by a daughter Stephanie Hogland and her parents.

Gayle worked as a registered nurse for many years in the St. Charles county area, Branson, Bolivar, and Springfield and cared for many patients. She used her knowledge to help others outside of work as a first responder to accidents, volunteering at church camp, or a friend/family seeking health advice. She loved her family and was a mother to many, including many church members’ children through the years. She loved to cook family recipes and prepare items for church service and potlucks.

Through the years, Gayle attended both the Church of God Worldwide Association and the United Church of God International Association with dear friends in each congregation. When no longer able to attend services in person she enjoyed Saturday church at home with her husband Gene and daughter Amy.

Gene and Gayle together have raised many animals from dogs to livestock. They enjoyed the farm life and country lifestyle immensely. Yet, they were quick to travel as the opportunity would arise.

Gayle is survived by: Loal Gene Hogland, Jr of Linn Creek, MO; Rebecca Hogland of Springfield, MO; Carrie Chavez (Hogland) of Springfield, MO; Amy Hogland of Linn Creek, MO; three grandchildren Justin Meadows of Lake St. Louis, MO; Brittany & Jonny Freas (spouse) of Springfield, MO; Marcus Chavez of Springfield, MO.

Private Services will be held at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
