Obituary of Eva Ilene King

Eva Ilene King, age 89, of Buckner, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Warsaw, Missouri.

Eva was born December 24, 1931 in Macks Creek, Missouri, the daughter of Ira J. and Emma E. (Meads) Waters.

On August 19, 1950, Eva was united in marriage to Arthur King in Camden County, Missouri. They shared 25 years together when he preceded her in death in 1975.

Eva worked for 20 years as a manager at McDonalds in Independence, Missouri. She was a member of Blue Springs, Missouri American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved gardening and flowers. Her family was everything to her and she loved them dearly. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loyal fan of Kansas City sports.

Eva is survived by her daughter Kathy King of Warsaw, Missouri; 5 grandsons Arthur King (Stephanie), Christopher King (Nancy), Jeffrey King (Risa), Richard McIntire (Erica) and Stephan King (Karly); 1 granddaughter Kimberly Diaz (Chris); and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Howard Waters of Macks Creek, Missouri and Don Waters of Urbana, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Emma Waters; her husband Arthur King; sons Arthur King Jr. and Jerry King; brother Earl Waters; and sisters Lena Heimbeaugh, Derlene Winn, Bernice Heimbeaugh, and Velma Leffert.   

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Macks Creek, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to services.

Interment will be held following services at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Edith, Missouri.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
