Obituary of Doris Shumate Hopper

Doris Shumate Hopper, 94, of St. Charles, Missouri went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Lake Parke in Camdenton, Missouri.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and wife.

She enjoyed reading, quilting, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.

Doris was born March 5,1927 in St. Charles, Missouri. She moved Florida in 2002 and was a member of Community Bible Church in Avon Park. Florida.

Doris is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Elery) Sharp; step-son Stephen (Toby) Hopper; step-daughter-in-law Rita Hopper; her grandchildren Sherry Seabaugh, Steven (Kimber) Smith; step-grandchildren Steve Jr. (Catherine) Hopper, Christopher (Susan) Hopper, David (Merrill) Hopper, Anna (Courtney) Hilton, Katie (Tyson) McCrory; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Helen Glear; her husbands Charles Shumate and Raymond Hopper; her sisters Darlene (Ralph) Shampine, Joyce (Russell) Kansteiner; her brothers Marvin (Charlotte) Glear, Bob (Millie) Gear; her step-son Richard (Rita) Hopper.

Private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Foundation.
