Obituary of Sue Ellen Wilmesher

Sue Ellen Wilmesher, age 75 of Osage Beach, Missouri passed away peacefully Friday, October 29, 2021, in the arms of her loving husband of 55 years.

 

Sue was born July 8, 1946, in Washington, Missouri, a daughter to the late John and Bernice (Hoelscher) McLaughlin.

 

Sue was a graduate of St. Francis Borgia High School and attended Mount St. Scholastica Benedictine College.

 

On May 14, 1966, she was united in marriage to James “Jim” Wilmesher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington, Missouri. He survives her at home.

 

Sue was employed as a secretary at Haviland Corporation in Linn, Missouri for 17 years.

 

Sue had many passions. She loved sports and quickly advocated for, and coached, the first girls’ softball team in the community. She cheered on and attended all her children’s basketball and baseball games. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tigers. Sue also loved the Lake of The Ozarks. She spent many years boating, water skiing, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. She loved to vacation in Mexico with friends and spent the later years in life road tripping and camping with her husband. Sue loved friendly competitions and would challenge anyone to a game of cards. Of all her loves, there was none greater than her family and friends. Sue will be remembered for her sweet and caring disposition in addition to her incredibly quick wit.

 

In addition to her spouse Jim of 55 years, she is survived by her daughter Kris Wilmesher (Ashleigh Lewellen) of Springfield, Missouri; her son Steve Wilmesher (Andrea) of Versailles, Missouri; three siblings, Pat Steinberg of St. Louis, Missouri; John McLaughlin (Nene) of Washington, Missouri; and Mary Debenedetti (Tom) of Clayton, Missouri; as well as multiple nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

 

Services will be held November 5, 2021, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Visitation will be at 11:00am and Mass will begin at noon. A meal will be served following Mass in the reception hall.
